How to display Christmas cards at home

’Tis the season to get sentimental, so it must be time for writing and receiving Christmas cards. Whether it’s familiar loved ones or those you haven’t heard from in a while, sharing festive wishes is a warming ritual that brightens up your household and theirs. Although lots of cards are digital these days, there’s nothing more meaningful than a handwritten note. Our beautiful Christmas cards come in a range of designs that are too good not to display, doubling up as festive decor throughout the season.

In this guide, we’ve noted down a few ways to inspire your Christmas card display. Some invite you to get creative, whilst others keep to a classic approach. You might choose to use one or more, it all depends on how many cards you receive and the space you’re working with.

Selecting & sending your cards

Whether you post them pre-December or later in the calendar, we’ve got packs of Christmas cards that can last you for the whole season. Our range of designs include in-house creations and collaborations with talented artists – so finding a style to suit everyone is easy. All of our cards are printed with luxurious paper, but you can also choose double thickness to add extra weight to your good wishes. Got lots of names on your list? Choose the amount of cards you need and get ready to write words of love and light.

Your Christmas card display

Whilst sending out your merry wishes, you’ve probably received some of your own. There’s only so much space on your shelves and mantelpiece which means it’s time to get creative – everybody’s card deserves a place. Here are a few ideas to inspire your card arrangement (and double up as festive decor too):

Line the bannister

Decking your halls with handwritten cards is a wonderful way to help the festive spirit shine throughout your home. With string, ribbon or washi tape, you can hang a jolly row of cards that bring joy every time someone passes.

Bright bunting

One of the most traditional signs of celebration is also a quick and easy way to display Christmas cards. Pair pegs with a piece of ribbon or string, and you’ve got your very own bunting. Hang from walls or the ceiling, and enjoy gazing at your cards all Christmas long.

Delightful doors

The back of your doors are a great home for cards and ornaments alike. Hang a thick ribbon or a long piece of fabric over the top, and attach your cards with string or those trusty pegs – you’re not hanging washing outside this time of year anyway.

Wall decorations

For those that like to get really creative, why not craft your own piece of wall art? Cut strips of festive-coloured ribbon or fabric, and arrange them into the shape of a star, wreath or other seasonal symbol. Then attach them to your wall with drawing pins, washi tape or other safe adhesive. Not only is this a lovely piece of decoration, you can clip your cards onto them with ease.
